Our Story

For us, skateboarding has always been more than a sport — it’s a community, a creative outlet, and a way to build confidence one push at a time.
That’s what inspired Pushing Together, a nonprofit based in DeKalb, Illinois, dedicated to helping kids who might not otherwise have the chance to experience it.

What started five years ago as a small effort among local skaters to donate a few extra boards has grown into a full community program that provides skateboards, shoes, and gear to kids who can’t afford them. Over time, our mission has expanded beyond skateboarding — we now support local youth in whatever ways they need most, whether that’s helping with school supplies, clothing, or community connections.

Every donation we receive goes directly toward helping kids feel included, supported, and inspired.
We believe that when you give a child a board, you’re giving them more than just something to ride — you’re giving them freedom, creativity, and confidence that lasts far beyond the skatepark.

Through events, fundraisers, and partnerships with local organizations, Pushing Together continues to build a stronger, more connected community — one that uplifts every kid, on and off the board.

Together, we’re proving that when a community pushes together, everyone moves forward.
